Buxa Tiger Reserve Travel


 
Boxa Tiger Reserve Project was declared as National Park in 1997. Buxa has a large diverse of plants and animals combinations. There are more than 108 species of creeper, 133 species of shrubs, 35 species of trees, 144 species of orchids and 11 species of medicinal plants. Where, more than 130 species of aquatic plants, 160 species of fern are also available. Here saal, teak, gammar, cikarasi and shishu are big trees. There have 46 species of birds, 68 species of mammals, 41 species of reptiles and 36 species of fish and various type of colorful butterfly. 

Buxa Tiger Reserve is famous for the Royal Bengal Tiger, but, there have many other mammal which are also attractive to travelers – Indian elephant, Indian bison( gour), wild pigs, monkey, deer, wild cat, wild dog and cheetah are much populous among them. Huge verities of avi-fauna are also available in the Buxa National Park. Wild cock, blue pigeon, peacock, pink-breast parakeet, blue halcyon, bee eater, butcher, phine, salikh, croaker, bulbul, dove, owl, etc are common birds in the Buxa National Park. Regal python and king cobra are common reptile in this National Park. It is a very dense forests, some where the sun-light does not reach for ever.
