Mongpong – gateway of dooars


Mongpong is strategically the gateway of the Dooars in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, located 30 kilometer away from Siliguri. It is a very good tourist destination in the region of Dooars and serve a magnificent and energetic view of the river Teesta, which comes down in the plane here after a more than 200 kilometers long journey on the hilly region from Sikkim.

At Mongpong, river Teesta breaks into several stream and flows towards Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. So, it is the home of various Indian and migrant birds.  Another beautiful tourist attraction at Mongpong is the Bag Pool (Coronation Bridge), which is built over the Teesta River at British period. It is just 3 kilometer away from Mongpong. Sevoke Kalibari also near by the Bag Pool.

Lava – Another Tourist Spot in The Dooars


Lava is another majestic tourist spot of the Dooars in West Bengal. It is a hilly village with an altitude of 2100 miter, which are totally covered by mountain range and green forests.  So, the surrounding scenic beauty is just awesome. There has a Buddhist Monastery. From there you can take the heavenly view of Mt. Kanchendenganza and all surrounding areas. Chhangi Falls is just 14 kilometers away from Lava. It is a 100 feet height water falls. And can reach with car. But last 1 kilometer, driving is not possible, so you should walk to reach at the falls.
Lava is also the entrance to Neora Valley National Park. So you can enjoy the full wildlife tour from there.

Mirik Tour and Travel


Mirik is another beautiful tourist spot in Darjeeling, West Bengal. It is about 22 kilometer away from Siliguri and you can easily manage a shared jeep with a fare of Rs. 60/- per head from Siliguri Junction. 

Mirik is developed as a beautiful tourist spots based on the Mirik Lake. It is a 2 kilometer man-made lake on this hill area with a altitude of 5800 feet from the sea level. A footpath along with the perimeter of the lake gives you access of the lake with a walk. And also a footbridge across the lake makes a junction of two sides in middle. Awesome pine forests completely cover the lake, which make the view more energetic. Boating in the lake and horse riding are very common activities in Mirik. So, if you think to visit in Darjeeling, don't miss Mirik for a day outing.

Buxa Tiger Reserve Travel


 
Boxa Tiger Reserve Project was declared as National Park in 1997. Buxa has a large diverse of plants and animals combinations. There are more than 108 species of creeper, 133 species of shrubs, 35 species of trees, 144 species of orchids and 11 species of medicinal plants. Where, more than 130 species of aquatic plants, 160 species of fern are also available. Here saal, teak, gammar, cikarasi and shishu are big trees. There have 46 species of birds, 68 species of mammals, 41 species of reptiles and 36 species of fish and various type of colorful butterfly. 

Buxa Tiger Reserve is famous for the Royal Bengal Tiger, but, there have many other mammal which are also attractive to travelers – Indian elephant, Indian bison( gour), wild pigs, monkey, deer, wild cat, wild dog and cheetah are much populous among them. Huge verities of avi-fauna are also available in the Buxa National Park. Wild cock, blue pigeon, peacock, pink-breast parakeet, blue halcyon, bee eater, butcher, phine, salikh, croaker, bulbul, dove, owl, etc are common birds in the Buxa National Park. Regal python and king cobra are common reptile in this National Park. It is a very dense forests, some where the sun-light does not reach for ever.

Tour at Rishop


Rishop or Rishyap is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the Dooars, West Bengal. If you plan to tour in Dooars, then should visit there. It is just 9 kilometer driving distance from Lava. You can also access it with trekking from Lava, with a distance of 3 kilometer.  It is a small village with minimum population and out of city crowds. And can take breath taking view of Mount Kanchenjungha from the near by “Tifin-dara” view point. Near by tourist spot from Rishop are Lava, Loleygaon and Kalimpong.
