Mongpong is strategically the gateway of the Dooars in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, located 30 kilometer away from Siliguri. It is a very good tourist destination in the region of Dooars and serve a magnificent and energetic view of the river Teesta, which comes down in the plane here after a more than 200 kilometers long journey on the hilly region from Sikkim.

At Mongpong, river Teesta breaks into several stream and flows towards Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. So, it is the home of various Indian and migrant birds. Another beautiful tourist attraction at Mongpong is the Bag Pool (Coronation Bridge), which is built over the Teesta River at British period. It is just 3 kilometer away from Mongpong.
